In 1998 the Integra sedan was missing from the RS line, the Type R stayed on sale as a liftback, and cars outside Japan took a revised front bumper with a more aggressive face. That bumper design also covered the Type R models, and the embossed Integra name moved below the left headlight. In the same year the Japanese Type R got its own upgrades, including bigger brakes. The Type R gave up air conditioning, leather seats, the adjustable driver seat and cruise control in exchange for weight savings, as it had the year before.
