1997 Mercury Tracer

Automobiles

For 1997 the third generation Tracer shared its redesign with the third generation Ford Escort, retaining the Mazda based chassis from the previous generation with an all new body. It was derived solely from the Ford Escort, assembled entirely at Wayne Stamping and Assembly in Wayne, Michigan, and the sole engine was a 110 horsepower 2.0 litre CVH split port induction inline four with a five speed manual or four speed automatic.
