To celebrate Didier Auriol's victory as the 1994 World Rally Champion, Toyota France released 200 units of the Didier Auriol limited edition in March 1995. In August 1995 minor changes were given to all Japanese Liftback models and the SS-III was added, and the car proved quite competitive in the 1995 World Championship. It was model year 3 of 6 in the Toyota Celica (sixth generation, T200), 1993 to 1999, coming after the 1994 model year and before the 1996 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Celica run from 1970 to 2006.
