By 1995 the MX-3 was sold in North America only as the four cylinder RS in the United States, while in Canada the V6 GS lasted until 1995. The car remained a 2+2 coupe on the EC platform with its Twin-Trapezoidal Link rear suspension, offered in Japan as the Autozam AZ-3 and Eunos Presso and in Australia as the Eunos 30X. Mazda referred to the car as a four seater, but the rear seats suited small passengers. Its V6 engine belonged to the Mazda K-series and used a variable length intake manifold, which Mazda called the Variable Resonance Induction System.
