The 1995 model was the last of the SR I generation, and Viper production moved from the New Mack Assembly Plant to the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in October 1995. Air conditioning remained an option, and Chrysler Corporation went with the idea of racing the Viper in 1995 to help market the car and improve its public perception, which led to the Viper GTS-R. The SR I and SR II cars were exported to Europe and sold as the Chrysler Viper.
