For 1995 the Special Edition trim was added to the liftback and sedan, and the RS received the 1.8 litre B18B1 engine producing 140 horsepower. The Integra was named to the 10Best list again. Japan got the first Integra Type R this year, a lightened and strengthened version with a hand-built engine, but North America had to wait two more model years for its own Type R. The Integra also came as a liftback and as a sedan with a choice of trims from the entry-level RS up to the GS-R with its 170 horsepower VTEC engine.
