The 1994 Probe was one of the first production cars to have dual airbags as standard equipment. Ford released a limited edition marketed as the Probe Feature Car but officially called the GT Plus package, known to enthusiasts as the Wild Orchid Edition, with Wild Orchid exterior paint and black cloth seats. From 1994 the 2.0 liter engine used a Ford made CD4E automatic transmission, while the V6 kept the Mazda 4EAT.
