1992 Subaru Impreza

Automobiles

The Impreza was announced on 22 October 1992 and released in Japan in November, as a replacement for the Leone. The WRX debuted in November 1992 with 240 PS, and Subaru adopted the name to stand for World Rally eXperimental, as every WRX has rally inspired technology including all wheel drive, stiffened suspension and a turbocharged four cylinder engine. The Impreza replaced the Leone, with the EA series engines of the Leone replaced by the new EJ series.
