From 1986 the Mazda based Ford Courier replaced the pickup in the South African market, while the P100 carried on for Europe. The 1986 P100 was a coupe utility built in South Africa on the front end of the Cortina Mk5, with a lengthened chassis for Europe. The P100 was a coupe utility pickup that Ford built on the front half of a family car, sold first in South Africa and then in Europe. It began as the Cortina Pickup and ended in 1995 on the Sierra, built in Portugal.
