The Granada Mark III was voted European Car of the Year in 1986, the year after its launch. The model had engines ranging from the familiar Pinto four in 1.8 liter form, which undercut a tax barrier, through a 2.0 liter with fuel injection, to the Cologne V6 in 2.4 and 2.8 liter capacities. It was a rebadged Scorpio, with the Scorpio badge as a trim designation for the top of the range models in Britain and Ireland.
