The Thunderbird celebrated its 30th year in the Ford line up in 1985, and a 30th Anniversary Edition was offered with unique blue paint and stripes and loaded with options, loosely based on the Elan trim and mostly with the 5.0 liter V8. Every Thunderbird got an updated interior with a redesigned instrument panel. From 1985 a Georgia dealership, Bill Elliot Ford, produced special dealer packages with a ground effects body kit, a rear spoiler and gold stripes.
