Few changes were made for 1984. The Turbo Coupe gained a three speed automatic transmission as an option, a Fila model was introduced with two tone white and gray paint, red and blue pinstriping and a white leather interior, and the mid range Heritage trim was renamed Elan. Each of these changes kept the car in the same body that had arrived in 1983 on the shortened Fox platform. The Turbo Coupe was the performance model of the range.
