In 1985 a five passenger version of the Dodge Caravan was introduced with a fold flat rear seat, called the Convert a Bed, which let the rear seat fold backwards into a bed. The Caravan still came in a single 112 inch wheelbase with the Mitsubishi 2.6 as an option beside the 2.2, with the top trims on both vans offering simulated woodgrain paneling, a feature exclusive to the first two generations of the Chrysler minivans.
