In November 1982 a new 1.8 liter Super Saloon Turbo and the 1800 GL Saloon AD with a back sonar were added to the Galant Sigma. The Sigma of 1982 was in its third year as the fourth generation, a rear wheel drive sedan with a drive computer, rear power reclining seats and a closed box enclosure speaker system. A taxi version with a 1.8 liter LPG engine and a 2.3 liter diesel was also made. In Australia the Sigma was produced and sold under the Mitsubishi name from 1980.
