For 1982 the O24 and TC3 were renamed Dodge Charger and Plymouth Turismo, while Chrysler introduced a coupe utility pickup derived from the L body chassis, named the Dodge Rampage, the first front wheel drive American pickup truck. The 2.2 liter high output engine was added to create the Dodge Shelby Charger and Plymouth Turismo Duster. The Omni five door hatchback itself continued, built at Belvidere Assembly in Illinois.
