The three door KP61 was the only Starlet ever sold in the United States, available from the 1981 model year through 1984. The 1981 and 1982 models came with standard five speed manual transmissions and tachometers, and the Starlet was briefly exported to North America. It was model year 3 of 4 in the Toyota Starlet (second generation, P60), 1978 to 1983, coming after the 1980 model year and before the 1982 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Starlet run from 1973 to 1999.
