The fastback Salon coupe was dropped for 1981, and the Supreme and Calais got a restyle that included a more aerodynamic nose and smoother body lines, while sedans got quad headlamps and a new grille. Most of this range continued to be marketed as the Cutlass Supreme until 1986. The 1981 car was the last year of the fifth generation Cutlass and the next year Oldsmobile began using the Cutlass name as a sub marque.
