Jet Industries bought Courier gliders, the bodies without engines, and put in a series DC motor and lead acid batteries to produce the ElectraVan 750, sold mainly as service trucks to local governments, with a top speed of about 70 miles per hour. The 1980 Courier was otherwise a compact pickup made by Mazda. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans.
