The Ford 1 Tonner name was used in the South African market for the pickup of 1979, a coupe utility on the Taunus TC2 and the Cortina Mk4. It was built by Ford in South Africa from a medium sized family car, with a redesigned cab with shorter doors. It began as the Cortina Pickup and ended in 1995 on the Sierra, built in Portugal. The P100 was a coupe utility pickup that Ford built on the front half of a family car, sold first in South Africa and then in Europe.
