The cab of the 1978 pickup was redesigned, using the shorter front doors from the Mk4 four door models, in place of the two door sedan doors of the earlier model. It was built in South Africa on the Taunus TC2 and Cortina Mk4, and sold as a car based load carrier. The P100 was a coupe utility pickup that Ford built on the front half of a family car, sold first in South Africa and then in Europe. It began as the Cortina Pickup and ended in 1995 on the Sierra, built in Portugal.
