The 1979 model year saw few changes, the only visible difference being the replacement of the amber rear turn signals with red ones. The Aspen offered a coupe only Sunrise package, mirrored on the Volare by a Duster package. Total production in 1979 came to 121,354 Aspens. It was the fourth model year of the Aspen, which was still offered as a coupe, a four door sedan and a four door wagon, with the same engine and transmission choices as at its 1976 launch, and the Sunrise package was the coupe's styling option for the year.
