The 1978 Cutlass was downsized to the new version of the General Motors A body with a shorter 108 inch wheelbase, and was lighter than earlier versions at around 3,300 pounds. The 1978 lineup included the fastback design aeroback Salon and Salon Brougham coupes and sedans, and the formal roof Supreme, Supreme Brougham and Calais coupes. The fastbacks were twins to the Buick Century, and a factory T top was optional on notchback coupes only.
