The Courier of 1978 was still identified from the Mazda B series by its single headlights, though with park and indicator lights now placed in the grille, where those of 1977 had turn signals in the bumper. It had front disc brakes and the option of the same 2.3 litre engine as the Pinto. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans.
