The 1977 Road Runner continued as a Volare appearance package with the same engine choices as the year before. The 318 V8 was standard and the optional 360 still came with a two barrel carburetor and single exhaust. Nothing marked the year out beyond that, since the package had become a styling variant rather than a performance model. A 360 V8 with a two barrel carburetor and a single exhaust stayed available alongside the standard 318, paired only with the three speed automatic transmission, which meant that the Road Runner remained a styling package.
