A 1977.5 variation of the Granada Sports Coupe was produced from May 1977 through the end of the model year, with blacked out molding, modified trim and taillights, and new colours. The Maverick, which the Granada was meant to replace, stayed in production through the 1977 model year. For 1977 the Mercury Grand Monarch Ghia was repackaged by Lincoln Mercury as the Lincoln Versailles, a car that Ford itself did not offer in a Ford version.
