1976 Ford E-Series

Automobiles

With a full frame the Econoline of 1976 became popular as a cutaway van chassis, which was used for many ambulances and for various types of trucks and buses. It was the first American full size van to use body on frame construction, and was built at Ohio Assembly and at Lorain. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014.
