For 1975 the Econoline and the Club Wagon were given a complete redesign on an all new chassis, which made Ford the first American manufacturer to use body on frame construction on a full size van. The E Series was built at Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake, which produced it from 1975. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
