The 1973 Road Runner received entirely new sheet metal with a more conventional squared up front end and a rear that looked more like the four door cars. The interior could now be ordered with power seats and windows and plusher carpet, which raised the car's level of luxury. The restyle lifted sales about 40 percent over the 1972 models, while the standard engine fell to Chrysler's ordinary 318 V8.
