The Pinto station wagon debuted on 24 February 1972, with an overall length of 172.7 inches and 60.5 cubic feet of cargo volume. It was the first two door Ford station wagon since the 1965 Falcon, and had flip open rear quarter windows. Front disc brakes came along with it, and the 2.0 liter engine was standard on the wagon. In February 1972 a Sprint Decor Group was also made available for a single model year, in white with blue accents and red pin striping.
