The 1970 Barracuda was an all new E body car, styled by John Herlitz, built on a shorter and wider version of the B platform and sharing no sheet metal with the Dodge Challenger. The fastback was dropped, so only a coupe and a convertible were offered, in three versions: the base car, the luxury Gran Coupe and the sporty 'Cuda. The larger engine bay allowed the 426 Hemi. High Impact colors, a shaker hood, and a factory backed Trans-Am team of Swede Savage and Dan Gurney belong to the year.
