The Valiant was completely redesigned for the 1967 model year, and the station wagons, hardtops and convertibles were dropped. Buyers who wanted a Valiant style hardtop coupe or convertible could choose a similarly styled Barracuda, which was still based on the Valiant. The sedan and two door body styles continued with the slant six engine. The Barracuda continued as the hardtop and convertible version based on the Valiant, so those body styles remained in the Plymouth showroom, and the sedan kept the same slant six engine as before.
