For the 1968 Valiant the horizontal division bar was removed from the grille, which had a fine cross hatched insert framed by a segmented chrome surround. Model nameplates were moved from the rear fender to the front fender. The 318 V8 with 230 horsepower was a Valiant option. The Valiant was still sold as a compact sedan and a two door, competing with the Ford Falcon and the Chevrolet Nova, and it still shared its A body with the Dodge Dart.
