The new Familia appeared in November 1967, with the same pushrod 987 cc engine as the previous saloons. Another 987 cc OHV engine, the PB, had appeared in January 1967, powering new 1000 saloon and van versions in response to competitors' 1 liter cars. Production of the earlier saloon continued until November 1967, while the van versions continued until they were replaced in February 1968. The Familia name means family in Latin, and export versions were sold as the 800, 1000, 1200 and 1300.
