The second generation 1964 Falcon, launched in 1963, had revised and more squared off styling. Later in the 1964 model year Ford launched the Mustang, which was based heavily on the Falcon's unified frame design. Television commercials for the Falcon now used the character Hazel as well as the Peanuts cartoon characters, with Ford a sponsor of the Hazel show and of The Ford Show. Ford was a sponsor of the show.
