In 1962 a two door light van version was added to the Publica range, essentially a station wagon but classified as a commercial vehicle in Japan. A derivative model, the Toyota Sports 800, marketed initially as the Publica Sport, debuted at the 1962 Tokyo Motor Show. It was model year 2 of 4 in the Toyota Publica (first series, P10), 1961 to 1965, coming after the 1961 model year and before the 1963 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Publica run from 1961 to 1978.
