Plymouth models were restyled in 1960, and by 1960 a new model, the Plymouth Taxi Special, was spun off from the Savoy, a version aimed at taxi companies. The Savoy remained the entry level full size Plymouth, with the front leg room of 45.5 inches that the 1959 car had, and with V8 power and automatic transmission available for those who wanted the room of a full size car at a low price, in a body restyled that year.
