The Courier of 1958 still used the clamshell rear door of the Ford Parklane and Ford Del Rio station wagons, which it had taken on in 1957. It was a two door commercial vehicle on the full size Ford chassis with a flat load floor and painted steel side panels instead of windows. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans. It began as a sedan delivery, became a Mazda built compact pickup, and later a Fiesta based van and coupe utility.
