In 1956 the Savoy line added a hardtop coupe and the Custom Suburban station wagon, and seat belts were added for safety, with the Highway Hi-Fi record player as an option. The Savoy remained in its middle position between the base Plaza and the high end Belvedere, and the film showing the 1955 and 1956 Plymouth models on the assembly line at Lynch Road Assembly remained in use to promote the new Plymouths.
