For 1955 the Plymouth Savoy was positioned between the base Plaza and the high end Belvedere, and it was available with new power steering. The 1955 cars were the first Plymouths of Virgil Exner's Forward Look styling, and a promotional film was made at Chrysler's Lynch Road Assembly plant showing the 1955 and 1956 Plymouth models built on the assembly line, which gave the new look a wide showing.
