The Courier of 1955 had the rear seating area replaced with storage and its side windows replaced by painted steel panels, as before. The station wagon line of Ford had been moved into its own series in 1955, and the Courier remained a two door commercial sedan delivery of the full size range. It began as a sedan delivery, became a Mazda built compact pickup, and later a Fiesta based van and coupe utility. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans.
