The Courier of 1954 shared its body with the two door Ford station wagon and was intended for use mainly as a commercial vehicle, a sedan delivery with a rear door that still opened to the side. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans. It began as a sedan delivery, became a Mazda built compact pickup, and later a Fiesta based van and coupe utility.
