1954 Chrysler New Yorker

Automobiles

The six cylinder engine was replaced in 1954 with the popular 195 horsepower FirePower V8, with a 235 horsepower version on the DeLuxe, and all 1954 New Yorkers were available with the new two speed Powerflite automatic transmission, replacing Fluid Torque Drive and Fluid Matic. It was the last year in which Chrysler offered the long wheelbase sedan, a model that had carried the New Yorker name on its stretched chassis since the war.
