Anadol was a Turkish automobile marque, the country's first domestic mass-production passenger vehicle brand. Its cars and pick-up trucks were built by Otosan Otomobil Sanayii at Istanbul between 1966 and 1991, in a joint venture that also assembled Ford products, and the name comes from Anadolu, the Turkish word for Anatolia, with a Hittite stag as its badge. The range began with the fibreglass-bodied A1 and grew to include the A2 saloon, the STC-16 sports coupe, the SV-1600 estate, the Böcek buggy, the A8-16 and the P2 pick-up, with several prototypes that never reached production. Passenger car production ended in 1986, when the Otosan plant turned to building Ford passenger cars, and the pick-up continued until 1991.
