The Anadol Böcek, meaning Bug, was a doorless fibreglass buggy built by Otosan in Istanbul from 1975 to 1977. Jan Nahum designed it after the Turkish Armed Forces asked for such a vehicle, and Otosan also expected demand from beach resorts and tourism. It had an openable roof, a windshield raked like the bonnet, asymmetrical front and rear ends in the pop-art style of the time and a 1298 cc Ford engine of 63 bhp. Versions were made with gull-wing doors, for television crews, for off-road use, as a tractor and as a military vehicle. Weak demand after the 1973 oil crisis kept output to 203 cars.
