The Anadol STC-16 was a fibreglass sports coupe built by Otosan in Istanbul from 1973 to 1975 and the first Turkish sports car. Designed by Eralp Noyan after Otosan's general manager persuaded Vehbi Koç to back a prestige model for rallying, it used a shortened Anadol chassis, a 1600 cc Ford Mexico engine and Ford Cortina and Capri transmission parts. The name stood for Sports Turkish Car 1600, or Sports Touring Coupe, and Turkish youth read it as Super Turk Monster. The 1973 oil crisis and a price above 70,000 liras held production to 176 cars, many painted Alanya Yellow, though the rally version won many events in Turkey and Europe.
