The Twenty was the large car on which Herbert Austin staked the company in 1919 after the First World War, choosing to mass produce one 20 horsepower model in the manner of Henry Ford at the enlarged Longbridge plant. Its layout was based on a Hudson Super Six. The one model policy failed and Austin was in receivership by mid 1921, but the four cylinder 20/4 sold until 1929 and a six cylinder 20/6 was announced in 1926. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the 20/4 and 20/6 (1919 to 1930).
