The Silver Wraith, the first Rolls-Royce built after the war, was announced in April 1946 as the 25/30 hp replacement for the 1939 Wraith and built until 1958 as a chassis only, at the Crewe factory that had been the Merlin engine plant, for coachbuilders to body. Its straight six moved to an F-head layout with chromed bores, it had a new rigid frame with independent front suspension, and most bodies were formal limousines. 639 long wheelbase chassis were made. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1946 to 1958).
