The last short wheelbase Silver Wraiths were delivered in November 1953, leaving the long, 133 inch wheelbase chassis to carry on. The Silver Wraith was one of the last Rolls-Royce models to be supplied as a rolling chassis, to be used with a variety of bespoke coachwork designed and made by a rapidly declining number of specialist coachbuilders, with most bodies of formal limousine design. It was a year of change for the model.
