The engine of the Silver Wraith was increased in 1951 from 4,257 cc to 4,566 cc, and the long, 133 inch wheelbase chassis was announced in 1951. The straight six replaced conventional overhead valves with an F-head configuration of overhead inlet valves and side exhaust valves, and chromed cylinder bores, and the chassis lubrication was centralised in the car. The Silver Wraith was built at Crewe.
