CMC is the vehicle brand of China Motor Corporation, the Taipei-based Taiwanese automaker founded in June 1969, which signed a technology sharing contract with Mitsubishi Motors the following year. For decades the company built Mitsubishi designs under licence for the Taiwanese market, and its products wore Mitsubishi badges. In 2013 it launched the Leadca truck as its first product sold under the CMC name without the Mitsubishi badge, and it began to brand its redesigned products as CMC from then on. The current CMC range centres on light commercial vehicles such as the Veryca and its successor the J Space, alongside the Zinger compact multi-purpose vehicle and export models such as the D260 and D270. Earlier CMC-branded names include the Minicab, Towny, Varica and Leadca.
